- Lisa is a Licensed Family Therapist, a Play Therapy Supervisor, and a Certified Animal Assisted Play Therapist® Supervisor and Instructor. She is the owner of Therapooch® Family Counseling Center in Camarillo, California. She started working with kids 30 years ago as a preschool teacher and would bring animals into her classroom. Lisa has over 25 years of experience conducting AAI and AAT in a variety of therapeutic settings. Her therapy office and playroom were personally designed with AAT in mind and is very spacious. In 2012, her playroom earned runner-up honors as the nation’s (USA) Top Playroom by the Association of Play Therapy (APT). Lisa currently works with her 10 year old chocolate lab, Kona and 4 year old chocolate lab Cali. Kona and Cali are Approved Play Therapy Dogs through the International Institute for Animal Assisted Play Therapy®.
